Bad credit, ATO debt and new ABNs considered · no credit check to enquire

Why usHow it worksGuides

Alternative business finance · Australia-wide

When the usual answer is no, we look at the whole business.

Banks and many finance companies decide by scorecard. One slow month, an ATO debt or a young ABN and the door shuts. We look at your trading, your plans and the assets behind you, then find a route that works.

30 seconds that explain everything

Why most finance companies say no, and why we often don't

Most lenders feed your application into a scoring model built for perfect files. It cannot see that the slow month was a one-off, that the tax debt has a plan, or that the new ABN belongs to someone with twenty years in the trade.

  • Real people read the bank statements, not just the score
  • Property, equipment and contracts count as part of the story
  • Clear answers, quickly, and no credit check to enquire

Scorecard versus whole business

Same business, two very different answers

The gap between a decline and an approval is often not the business at all. It is the way the lender decides. Here is what changes when people, not a points table, make the call.

Alternative business loans: quick answers

What is an alternative business loan?

Business finance from outside the big-bank model. Specialist and private lenders assess the whole business, including current trading, bank statements and any property behind it, instead of running a rigid scorecard that declines anyone with a tax debt, a past default or a short trading history.

Can I get a business loan with bad credit?

Often, yes. Past defaults, judgements and low scores are considered case by case. What matters most is what your business account shows now, why the problem happened and, for larger amounts, whether there is property to secure the loan.

Can a business loan pay off an ATO debt?

Yes. Clearing BAS, PAYG withholding or income tax arrears is one of the most common reasons owners come to us, especially when a payment plan has been refused or defaulted, or a director penalty notice has arrived.

My ABN is less than a year old. Can I still borrow?

Many alternative lenders consider businesses from around six months of trading, based on bank statements. With property as security, even newer businesses can be considered because the decision leans on the equity and the exit.

How much can I borrow?

Unsecured and cash flow funding typically runs from $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover. Property-secured loans run from $20,000 to $5,000,000 by first mortgage, second mortgage or caveat, with no valuation needed before approval.

How fast is the money?

Smaller unsecured amounts can move quickly once bank statements are verified. Property-secured loans can be funded in as little as 24 hours on straightforward deals once documents are signed. A complete, accurate enquiry is the biggest time saver.

Will enquiring hurt my credit score?

No. There is no credit check when you first enquire. We talk through your situation first, and a credit check only happens if you decide to go ahead with an application.

Why don't you show interest rates?

Because every loan is priced on the individual business, the security and the term. A headline rate would mislead most people. You see every cost in writing before you commit to anything.
